Where I’ve Been & Where I’ll Be Next
I had the joy of offering a customized session of my From Management to Leadership: Making the Shift workshop exclusively for Arizona State University’s Learning Design Community. Together, we explored what it means to move beyond management into authentic, purposeful leadership that creates lasting impact.
If you’re interested in a tailored workshop for your team or organization, I’d love to imagine what we can create together. Reach out at kimberly@fivesixteenconsulting.org, and let’s explore the possibilities.

Glass Cliffs No More: Black Women Amplifying Leadership Self-Efficacy Through an Arts-Based Sister Circle Model
In this groundbreaking research, Dr. Davis explored the challenges faced by Black women in leadership positions and introduced an innovative approach to empower them. Drawing from her experiences and expertise, Dr. Davis presented the concept of an Arts-Based Sister Circle Model designed to foster leadership self-efficacy among Black women. "This research is a testament to the fortitude and potential of Black women in leadership," says Dr. Kim Davis. "By leveraging the power of community, creativity, and self-expression, we can shatter the glass cliffs and pave the way for genuine empowerment and inclusivity."
SphinxConnect 2023 Conference
At SphinxConnect 2023, I was invited by Afton Battle to join an empowering conversation alongside Taneshia Nash Laird and Nadege Souvenir. Together, we reflected on the courage it takes to advocate for ourselves, honor our worth, and confront the realities of the wage gap that continues to impact women and people of color. The dialogue was both honest and urgent—a reminder that true equity is not a dream deferred, but a demand long overdue.

Evanston Skokie School District 65 Equity Day 2024
I had the honor of joining the teachers and staff of Evanston Skokie School District for a workshop rooted in honesty and openness. Together, we explored the challenges and possibilities of equitable leadership transitions, the importance of mentoring, and the wider landscape of equity, diversity, inclusion, and access—and how these realities shape the lives of women and members of the global majority. The conversations were rich with insight and hope, and I look forward to where they may lead.
If this resonates with you, let’s connect and imagine what we might create together.

ANNUAL CONVENING 2023
I was invited by JR “Nexus” Russ to join a powerful and deeply introspective panel alongside Torie Wiggins and Joey Reyes. Together, we explored the ways internalized white supremacy can take root within marginalized communities—how the pursuit of proximity to power can shape our stories, silence our voices, and fracture our connections. Through honest dialogue and personal narratives, we named these complexities while also holding space for healing, truth, and the possibility of transformation.
